Meet the collective that have come together to create No.98 Beauty,
the brand that believes in innovative, intention-driven products, for everyday life.
It might be simplicity that drives the rituals of the products but the team behind the brand have far from simple career journeys, with experience that’s involved building some of the biggest brands in the beauty industry, making the No.98 Beauty collective an impressive one.

Let’s start our introductions with Lorna Andrews, a familiar face to millions who already know and love her as Lorna Luxe, one of the original content creators on your social channels, but if you’re just discovering No.98 Beauty, Lorna is one of the co-founders along with Charlie Herman who met whilst both in Miami 10 years ago. Lorna is spearheading the beauty brand with her no-nonsense approach to beauty coupled with her ambitious, business savvy brain.
By her side is Charlie, the powerhouse helping drive the creative direction and product inception and also co-owner of GHOST by Lady A and LA-Space lifestyle with Lorna. Charlie isn’t new to helping brands tell their story through aesthetic design and product development. He’s worked as an artist in residence at luxury fashion houses and lifestyle brands such as Tiffany & Co, Mont Blanc and Soho house and working across luxury brands is Charlie’s speciality, helping nurture brands at the seeding stage (Gillian Anderson’s G-Spot brand a recent project), to help them map out their strategies with talent and creativity. It doesn’t end there, Charlie is a multi-hyphenated talent and is also the Creative Director for Lady A and previously Remy Cointreau and founder of Leap Management, a social media, talent and content creation agency.

Then there’s Brendan Hegarty and Ryan Smith Gardener, also co-founders of No.98 Beauty, who have beauty in their veins. Brendan and Ryan were handpicked by Charlie and Lorna when they met three years ago before embarking on No.98 Beauty. Brendan and Ryan instantly aligned with Lorna and Charlie’s vision – to develop and build a credible beauty offering that has intention, innovation and a multi-tasking approach. Both starting their careers very early on in their family business, Salon Services, where they learnt everything about wholesale hair and beauty – scaling it to the point of sale to Sally Beauty whilst still retaining the manufacturing arm of the business. After a successful career pivot into hospitality, Brendan returned into beauty in 2015 as a co-founder in successful self-tan brands, Tan-Luxe, Isle of Paradise and Tanologist – industry disruptors and now household names.
Ryan became a shareholder in the trio of tanning brands in 2017 after honing his craft in product R&D, manufacturing and operations which gave him the skills to help Tan-Luxe, Isle of Paradise and Tanologist launch into global retailers such as Boots, Sephora and ULTA. This dream duo from Scotland have been crucial to cementing the No.98 Beauty DNA, innovating and bringing to life the intention-driven products. Working for over two years with Lorna and Charlie, No.98 Beauty launched into hair and are already making waves in the industry.

At No.98 Beauty, we see ourselves as a collective, integrating influential people from the industry when we’re considering product development for trialling and testing. This is why Pete Burkill plays an important role advising and guiding us on how products work in both a professional and at-home setting. As an in-demand hair stylist working on editorial, celebrities, in-salon at Josh Wood Atelier and of course Lorna’s go-to after Pete styled her hair for an event and hit it off, bonding over their northern roots. Pete is the final cog in the No.98 Beauty process to help us deliver exceptional products for everyday life.
Finally, with the launch of 98 Pages – No.98 Beauty’s editorial platform – the team brought veteran beauty editor Lauren Murdoch-Smith onboard as editorial director. With over 20 years in the beauty and wellness industry working at glossy titles such as British Vogue, Grazia and Marie Claire, Lauren is shaping the way we tell our story.

The team launched first with the hero of the range, Hydra Bond, the consistently sold-out hair mask that works to repair and protect hair with its Hydra Bond Complex formula. This was soon followed by the shampoo and conditioner – we like to call it our hair Co-ord – which compliments the Hydra Bond Masque with the same, lightweight Hydra Bond complex formula for everyday use. Most recently, the range has expanded to add The Gloss miracle oil into the line-up, an instant nourishing treatment and hair fragrance in one.
